Katie Montague
MSW, RSW
Katie Montague is a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Prior to obtaining her Masters of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University, Katie worked within youth addiction services, housing services and school-based programming. Katie has almost a decade of experience providing social services in some format to individuals, families and children/youth.
Katie’s approach is client-centred meeting the client where they are on their journey. She uses evidence based approaches to counselling pulling from a multitude of modalities including Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Katie has worked in a variety of population groups including; with those who have experienced trauma, neurodivergent folks, 2SLGBTQIA+ identifying youth/adults and those experiencing challenges around emotional regulation. Katie currently works at CHEO in the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic.
At Davis Counselling, Katie is looking to provide support to a variety of clients including children, youth and families. Katie hopes to provide a safe, welcoming and nonjudgmental space. She honours your vulnerability and willingness to show up.
