Catherine Bouchard

MSW, RSW

Catherine completed her Master’s of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Ottawa and has acquired over 20 years of experience working as a Registered Social Worker (RSW).  She has held positions at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), Consular Affairs at the Embassy of Canada to the United States, the Ottawa Children's Aid Society (CAS) and the Ottawa Children's Treatment Centre (OCTC).


Throughout her career, Catherine has had the privilege of working with individuals of all ages experiencing stressors affecting their mental well-being.    She has collaborated with her clients to find effective techniques to cope with anxiety, stress, grief and loss.  She has also provided support to caregivers parenting a child living with a life-limiting illness or those having experienced perinatal loss.


In her practice, Catherine’s approach encompasses an array of therapeutic techniques drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Crisis Intervention, Strength-Based, Solution-Focused and Grief & Bereavement Therapy.


Catherine has supported teenagers struggling with an eating disorder utilizing evidence-based therapies like Family Based Therapy (FBT) and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT).  She has worked with families in different clinical settings, including a tertiary care inpatient unit, a partial hospitalization program, a day treatment program as well as outpatient services.


For the convenience of her clients, Catherine is able to provide care in both French and English, either through video sessions or in-person consultations.
