April Krause

MA, MSW, RSW

April is a registered social worker with a Master of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University, an MA in Legal Studies and BA in Child Studies and Psychology from Carleton University. Since 2014, she has worked in youth mental health, starting at Youth Net (CHEO) and now supporting children, youth, and families at CHEO’s outpatient mental health clinic.

At Davis Counselling, April works with teens, and young adults who are looking for a safe, supportive space to talk and grow. She has a strong interest in supporting youth who struggle with managing big emotions or borderline traits, as well as those navigating suicidal thoughts or behaviours, self-harm, identity exploration, stress, and chronic pain or health concerns. She draws from both professional training and her own lived experience with chronic pain to support clients in feeling more understood, empowered, and in control of their lives.

April is trained in CBT, DBT, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), polyvagal methods, and other modalities of therapy. She is currently completing training in Trauma-Focused CBT and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to support folks with OCD. Her approach varies from person to person to best fit each individual’s unique needs. It is youth-centered, trauma-informed, and grounded in principles of empowerment and engagement.

April is passionate about helping young people feel heard, supported, and ready to take on life’s challenges on their own terms.

April offers both in-person and virtual sessions.
